This User Guide will introduce you to the key features of your Company’s appnetic App.

 

iphone_bigThe app is built on the appnetic platform, a technology that helps sales professionals improve productivity by allowing them to focus more of their time on prospecting, and selling.

This Guide will walk you through your app’s screens and explain how to use it to take advantage of all the features and functionality loaded to your App.

The basic organizational structure for the app is a hierarchy. Much like the Folder and File system you have used for years to organize documents on your computer, appnetic organizes your content into a hierarchy starting with broad categories and ending with individual documents. This familiar structure allows your Company to efficiently provide you with a large amount of content in an easily navigable format through your mobile device.

The content hierarchy was created and is managed by your Company’s Admin.

Before you can access your Company’s amazing application you will need the following:
    • 1. An iTunes Account and Apple ID
    • 2. Your Company’s App
    • 3. An appnetic AppUser Account or Invitation
    • 4. An appnetic AppUser Password
1. An iTunes Account and Apple ID

If you already have an Apple ID you can use your existing Apple ID.
If you don’t have an Apple ID yet, tap “Create a New Apple ID”.

2. Your Company’s App

Go to the App Store on your iOS device or Computer and type Your Company’s AppName in the search bar. Tap GET and then INSTALL and the appnetic app will appear on your device.

3. An appnetic AppUser Account

In order to use your new Company app, your company Admin will invite you to create an account and download the app. Your Admin will send an email invitation to each new AppUser.

If you did not receive an email invite and would still like to receive access to the App you can go to your Company sign-up form page and request access. You will need to request the link from your Company Admin, and it should take the form of https://enterprise.appnetic.com/signup_forms/your-company-app-name

4. An appnetic AppUser Password

When you have been invited or approved by your company Admin, you will need to click the link in the email to create your account by setting up your password and agreeing to the appnetic Terms of Service.

As soon as you finish creating your account, you will be ready to start using the App!

Common Questions: Getting Started

Do I need an Apple ID to install my Company’s appnetic app on iPad or iPhone?

Yes, you need an Apple ID to install the appnetic app.

If you already have an Apple ID you can use your existing Apple ID.

If you don’t have an Apple ID yet, tap “Create a New Apple ID” and follow the instructions.


Where do I download my Company’s app?

Go to the App Store on your iOS device or Computer and type Your Company’s AppName in the search bar. Tap GET and then INSTALL and the appnetic app will appear on your device.

Note: You need an Apple ID to be able to download the application to your iOS device. If you don’t have an Apple ID, tap “Create New Apple ID” and follow the instructions.


What if I forgot my password?

You can reset your password from within the iOS App.

To reset your password from the iOS apps, enter your email address and simply click ‘Forgot password?’. Fill in your username/email address and you will get an email with a link to reset it.

Be sure to check your spam folder if you don’t seem to receive the appnetic e-mail. 


We want to share one tablet with several appnetic users. Is this possible?

We want to share one tablet with several Appnetic users. Is this possible? Yes. Obviously you could share a single tablet user account, but each person having his/her own account is possible as well.

In the latter case, you just sign out when you’re done working with it, and someone else can sign in with his/her own account. Each user has its own Items and sessions, and they are archived/restored every time you sign out/in.

With Appnetic, you can quickly view bookmarks and notifications as well as browse everything in your appnetic account by search, tags, and more.

You may browse items easily by category, bookmarks, or tag by tapping any of the views on the Navigation Tab.

Home

To close a view and return to the Home Screen, tap the Home icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen

To browse all the items in your appnetic App, tap the Home icon on the bottom left Navigation Tab. Tap any icon from the Home screen for the option to view sub-categories or items as a vertical list in alphabetical order, by item or category title.

A few notes about how the Category List and Items are organized:

– Categories and Items can then be sorted by the filter at the top of the list.
– The Category List displays the name along with the number of Items it contains.
– The Item List displays the name of an item along with an icon for video files.

Bookmarks

The Appnetic App allows for any item to be bookmarked into a customizable list of items you would like quick access to. Once created, your Item will automatically be saved to the Bookmarks tab and synced across all your devices.

All Items are searchable, making them easy to find when you need them.

Search

Everything in appnetic is searchable, including the metadata related to an item, and tags. appnetic also provides your 10 most recent searches, so regular searches are quick and easy.

To search your appnetic App, tap to select any of the Search Icons from the Home or Search Screen, then enter the text you want to search for in the Search Field.

How do I make sure I'm working with the latest version of the appnetic App?

If the Settings of your iPhone look like in the screenshot below, the app will update itself without having to do anything:

If you don’t have automatic app updates enabled, simply go to the App Store, search for “AppName” and you will see an “Update” button if there is a newer version of the Application than your current one.

Otherwise the button will say “Open”, then you know you’re already working with the latest version of the appnetic App for your Company. 

System Requirements for iOS

All appnetic Apps will run on iOS 8 and higher, however we always recommend that you run the latest version for best results.

Which languages are supported?

In the current iOS app only English is supported. 

You may browse Items easily by Item, category, or tag by tapping any of the icons on the Home Screen.

To close a view and return to the Home Icon, tap the Home icon located on the bottom of the screen in the Navigation tab.

Browse By Category

To view all the Items in your Company’s appnetic App via their category, tap an icon from the Home screen to select a category.

How can I switch Categories?

An appnetic AppUser can have access to multiple Categories. Each Category can contain different content.

To switch Categories, tap the Home icon in the bottom left. There you will see a list of Categories you have access to. Simply tap another Category icon or name to open it.

An Item can contain just about anything, including text, images, files, video and more.

Once created by your Company’s Admin, the Item will link to a website and the Item metadata will automatically be saved to appnetic and synced across all your devices. All metadata for an item are searchable, making them easy to find when you need them.

Using the Tab Panel

The Tab panel provides you with several different ways to quickly view information about an Item:

viewanitem_image4Ratings: Tap to Rate the Item or Provide Feedback directly to the content owner. Here you can also see how your colleagues have rated this particular Item on a scale of 1 to 5 stars as well as rate the Item yourself.

Rate An Item

You can leave comments on Items in the appnetic App and share feedback with the Marketing team this way.

When you are viewing an Item, you can select the Item Support Button in the Ratings Tab. You can now leave a comment that will go directly to the appnetic Admin for your Company.

To Rate an Item, do the following:

1. Select an Item from the Item List and tap Rate Item in the Ratings Tab.

2. Tap to select the number of stars for the item. Tap Submit.

Bookmark An Item

Bookmarks are a great way to keep track of Items that you want to use later, or for managing content you need for your next pitch.

To bookmark an Item, do the following:

1. Select an Item from the Item List and tap the Bookmark button in the bottom left corner of the Item Detail screen.

2. Select a Folder to Add the Item to and Tap Done.

To view all available Bookmarks, tap the Bookmark icon button in the Navigation Bar.

Share an Item

Share lets you communicate and collaborate with others about your work without leaving the App. Share Items with clients, or your colleagues whether or not they use appnetic.

To Share an Item, do the following:

1. Select an Item from the Item List and tap the Share Button in the bottom right corner of the Item Detail screen.

2. Select an App.

3. Type to add your own message and tap to Send.

This button enables you to share the Item via text message, email or social media. Your Admin will set the criteria for which methods are available for sharing Items.

 

Common Questions: View an Item

How much content can I store on my appnetic app?

Depending on the license package, an administrator can upload up to 10GB (Professional), 1TB (Premium) or unlimited (Enterprise). The maximum amount of content that can be stored on the app will be equal to this amount.

Please make sure that you always have sufficient storage space left on your device to download the content on your appnetic app. When you save content for download appnetic will tell you how much storage space you need to do the update.


Do I need an internet connection to see my content?

You will need an internet connection for the following actions:

– Updating your content
– Sharing an Item
– Mailing your content
– Viewing Web hosted Items

 

How can I make sure the content on my device is up-to-date?

Every time you login to appnetic, the app will check for updates to content on your Company’s app.

You can manually update the content in the app by tapping the Settings icon in the bottom right corner and then tap Sync.

Now the application will check if new content is available and start downloading it. A notification will pop up when the content has been successfully updated.

Can I set or edit the email body for Shared Items?

Yes, you can do this directly in the Compose Message screen.

Tap the Message and you can Add or edit the Email body. After you’re done, just tap Send. 


Can I still share files as an email attachment?

The general advantage of using appnetic is the data you are able to analyze after you send an Item. When you want to send your files as an attachment in an email, you will lose this advantage. Therefore, we don’t recommend to use sending an email with an attachment.

Go to the file you would like to share and click on the Share button.

A new email has opened with the file in the attachment.

(Make sure your e-mail address is configured on your iOS device.)

Type in the e-mail address of your recipient, write a subject and add or edit the body text. When you are done, press Send.

Can I group my Favorite Items?

You may have some files you really like to work with, but don’t always find easily, or they’re not close together.. The best thing to do then is to Bookmark it.

Then, wherever you are in the app, you can use the Bookmark tab to find these documents.

Simply select the Bookmark Tab in the Navigation. And select Item to navigate directly to that item.  

Commenting on Items in appnetic

You can leave comments on Items in the appnetic App and share feedback with the Marketing team this way.

When you are viewing an Item, you can select the Item Support Button in the Ratings Tab. You can now leave a comment that will go directly to the appnetic Admin for your Company.

appnetic gives you many ways to keep your Items organized, so that you can browse, search and remember in the way that works best for you.

Bookmarks

Bookmarks are the most common way of organizing Items in appnetic, and are commonly used to separate Items by customer, product or purpose.

For example, you might create one bookmark called ‘Product Launch Items’ and one called ‘Customer Items’ to keep these types of Items separate and easier to find.

Creating a New Bookmark Folder
To create a new Bookmark Folder, do the following:

1. On the Bookmark Screen, tap the Edit button in the upper right to display the Folder List.

2. Tap the Plus Folder button at the bottom of the folder list to add a new Folder.

3. Enter a name for your new Folder and tap Done. You can start adding Items to your new Bookmark immediately.

Adding Items to a Bookmark

By default, all new Items are saved to your appnetic account’s default Bookmark Folder. To create a new Item in a specific Folder, select the Folder you want to add the new Item to from the Item List.

Deleting a Bookmark

Please be aware that when a Bookmark is deleted, all the Items it contains will be deleted.

To delete a Bookmark, do the following:

1. On the Bookmark Screen, tap the Edit button in the upper left to display the Folder List.

2. Click the red circles next to the folder you want to delete.

3. Tap Cancel or Delete when prompted to delete the selected Bookmark Folder or Item.
*Please note that this operation cannot be undone.

How can I add items to My Bookmarks?

Bookmarks are a great way to keep track of Items that you want to use later, or for managing content you need for your next pitch.

Bookmarking an Item

To bookmark an Item, do the following:

1. Select an Item from the Item List and tap the Bookmark button in the bottom left corner of the Item Detail screen.

2. Select a Folder to Add the Item to and Tap Done.

To view all available Bookmarks, tap the Bookmark icon button in the Navigation Bar.

Everything in your appnetic App is searchable, including the Items, keywords and tags.

To search your appnetic App, open any of the list views from the Home Screen, then enter the text you want to search for in the Search Field, located at the top of the screen. The appnetic App searches within the current category only, meaning that you must use the Search Field within the appropriate view for the type of content you want to search for. For example, to search for notes on Products, use the Search Field in the Products List.

To search throughout the entire appnetic App, select the search Button at the bottom of the screen in the navigation bar.  Here you will view a list of recent searches or you can begin a new search. Results will display for all items in all categories.

How can I search content in the appnetic App?

When you are looking for a specific file in appnetic but don’t know exactly where to find it, it’s easiest to use the search function in the Navigation Bar.

To start a search, just add your text in the Search field on the Category screen.

The app will show the results as you type with matches in this Category, the folder and file name will be shown.

How to solve Common Issues when the App does not work as expected.

 

1. App version

If you are having issues with your Company’s appnetic app, first ensure that your app is up to date. You can check this in the settings part of the app. Click the button Settings. In the About section of the menu, you will see the app version. This should be the same version that is currently available on the app store. If you go to the app store and check for updates, you will also see if there is an update ready to be installed.

2. iOS version

Always make sure your iOS version is up-to-date. Go to the settings on your device and check General => Software update to check if there any pending updates.

3. Log out and log back in

When you’re still having issues after update, try logging out and logging back in. You can check this in the settings part of the app. Click the button “Settings”. And select Log Out in the menu.

4. Close and reopen app

Sometimes, an app reinitialization is necessary e.g. when you are stuck at some point. To close the appnetic app, click the home button twice.

You will then see an overview of all the apps that are currently running on your tablet. Then to close the appnetic app, simply swipe upwards.

5. Uninstall and reinstall app

If you’re still stuck after you close and reopen the app, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. To uninstall, long push the icon for your Company’s App on your homescreen and then click the “x” when the icons start jiggling to delete from your device.

Now go to the App store and reinstall the app.
